Based in Nottingham, Oak Student Letts has unique coverage and knowledge of the Student Lettings market. We spoke to Owen Cosslett, Lettings Manager, to find out his thoughts about how iamproperty CRM helps supports their business.
“Everything we do in the office is based around iamproperty. It’s very difficult to run a modern and compliant lettings business without a competent CRM Software.
“iamproperty enables us to offer a large range of services, which allow us to run a large portfolio effectively, and with well-motivated staff.
“Like many people in the lettings business, we have a high degree of staff turnover. As a result, a lot of the technical knowledge related to lettings is lost when staff leave. And peoples understanding of how to work, and workflows isn’t always consistent across the business.
“So, the technical support element of iamproperty is absolutely essential. I think it would be fair to say that we wouldn’t have stayed with any software for the length of time we have, if it hadn’t been for the excellent support.
“The student business runs slightly differently to professional lettings, so many other software’s can’t cope with the variety of issues we have. The technical support we’ve received from iamproperty over the past few years has been exemplary.

“For us at Oak Student Letts, repairs are a major, major part of our business. The repair module in the CRM (Property Management module) deals with repairs to and from tenants and contractors.
“It has absolutely revolutionised the number of jobs that we do. I think we’re up to about 40,000 jobs through the system so far.
“While no system can be perfect, this one has a rare balance between efficiency – it’s very quick to process jobs – and detail, efficacy and auditing. I think for me that’s a standout function.
“Most letting software will do the basics, like tracking rent, dealing with tenants information, but I think this module, which is included in iamproperty CRM as standard, is an absolutely fantastic feature and one which we’d be very reluctant to lose.”
“Why would someone want to use iamproperty? I think fundamentally if they wanted to improve the efficiency and cost effectiveness of their business.
“Simply put, any lettings business using a below standard or no CRM at all would really be amazed at how much difference this software would make over a year. Like most CRM, you have to invest in adjusting some of your systems to match the software, but once you do that, there’s significant benefits.”
