What will you be doing as a Junior Legal Cashier

  • Process and check statements; handle client monies
  • Authorise and process client payments (TTs, Faster Payments, BACs, CHAPS)
  • Liaise with conveyancing and wider teams to ensure accurate, timely completions
  • Investigate and resolve unallocated/unidentified payments with credit control
  • Ensure compliance with CLC regulations and internal policies
  • Manage daily tasks efficiently, ensuring high control and service quality
  • Report any irregularities, including suspected money laundering, to MLRO/Supervisor
  • Stay updated on regulatory changes; attend training as required
  • Use case management systems effectively; maintain accurate records
  • Generate and submit daily, weekly, and monthly reports
  • Support colleagues and cover tasks across the team as needed

  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • High level of numeracy and accuracy
  • Adaptable and able to work independently or as part of a team
  • Strong interpersonal skills; able to build rapport with colleagues and clients
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook

Desirable:

  • 12+ months’ experience in a legal cashier/accounts role (ideally in Conveyancing)
  • Knowledge of CLC and/or SRA Accounts Rules.

This is a Hybrid role working between home and our Gosforth based Office.
